Overview
The summits of Helvellyn (950m), Skiddaw (931m) and High Street (828m) are three of the most dramatic biking destinations in the UK, criss-crossed by trails that offer a range of incredible mountain bike rides. Being based in The Lake District we know all of the route options inside out, and we’re the experts when it comes to guiding people safely through them.
Each mountain has its own character, and these will unfold as the weekend progresses. From the long ridge that defines High Street to the rounded giant of Skiddaw and the rock-strewn summit of Helvellyn – every mountain has its mixture of breathtaking views and mtb challenges. The three days of mountain biking will be adapted to suit the weather conditions and group ability, but you must be prepared for steep climbs with some hiking sections, narrow ridge rides and exposed summits and descents.
Our weekend base will be the 5-star Brooklands guesthouse, located in the north-eastern Lake District gateway town of Penrith. This has been a favourite for our clients since 2001 and is the only guesthouse in the area to boast a listing in the Michelin guide, alongside its five stars and AA breakfast award.
