This long weekend escape packs in some of the finest mountain bike rides, rocky singletrack trails and superb hospitality that characterise our Spanish full week holidays.

The ancient donkey tracks carved into the rocky mountains of The Marina Alta range were left to grow wild, unused and hidden for many years. Then in 1997 our mountain bike guides discovered the potential of this seldom visited region of Spain - since then we’ve worked tirelessly to uncover what MBR magazine described as being “as good as anything we’ve ever ridden in Spain”. And we’ve uncovered a lot more superb Spanish singletrack since then.

Overview

The region of southern Valencia known as the Marina Alta Mountains sits an hour inland from the coast, and a world away from the bustling tourist towns and beaches that lie far below us. The village we stay in is surrounded by mountains, which in turn are criss-crossed by mountain bike trails of all kinds, including some of the best rocky singletrack you’ll find anywhere in Spain.

These ancient tracks, known as Mozarabic trails, link a whole range of summits, valleys and ridges for the perfect Spanish mountain bike experience. Our guides know this area inside out, and with two of them working right through the week we can offer more demanding as well as easier rides, so everyone gets what they came for. The final result – a breathtaking array of great mountain biking, easily accessed from our beautiful little guesthouse located in the heart of a traditional Spanish mountain village.

Flight transfers from Alicante airport
Transfers are included for all arrivals between 10am and 2pm local time. We will pick-up after the last arrival flight (if you arrive early there are bars and cafes at the airport). For departures we like to allow 2 hours for the transfer, and suggest that people book flights not leaving Alicante before 12 noon local time. This equates to a departure time of 8am from Castell de Castells allowing a 2 hour check-in. We will set off in time for the earliest flight.
