The French town of Morzine is the undisputed heart of Alpine mountain biking, and the centre for our chalet-based holidays. All bikers, from cross country experts to keen freeriders or downhillers, will find the trails they need and the experts to advise them on this unique holiday.
Overview
Our Chalets are located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Morzine, close to the main bars, shops and restaurants not to mention the lifts and most popular trail heads. They come in two standards – the basic but comfortable Chalet George and the more luxurious Chalet Berger.
Both chalets offer the same service during the biking day, but while George offers simpler meals and accommodation Berger offers very high quality cuisine, tea and cakes after rides as well as en-suite bedrooms throughout. Berger also benefits from access to a private swimming pool, right next to the chalet.
The biking in the Portes du Soleil region is suitable for a whole range of people and the weeks we operate are designed to cater for this mix. Due to French regulations we cannot offer rides guided by English staff but, at an extra cost, we have teamed up with three of the leading English speaking guides in the region to offer guiding as and when needed. The price for this depends on the number of people going out – please call to discuss these options.
For those who do not want to be guided we offer a complete range of laminated maps, GPS routes and advice to give you the rides you need for a full week and more. We also have two in-house bike staff who can join you to guide you on the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil for part of your holiday. They have worked in the region for many years and will be able to give detailed route advice and guidance throughout your stay.
Our support service is designed to assist you if you have an accident or mechanical failure in a remote part of the area. All of our guests are issued with emergency contact cards and we provide an on the mountain Emergency back up service. Just one call to us and we can help you call in the rescue services or send out one of the bike staff with spare parts or tools to get your bike back up and running again. |
